I learned how to use html and css for the first time in this class. I had learned a bit of p5js for one of my classes, but I had never learned html and css before or had any knowledge prior about it whatsoever. Personally, I think they are both more straightforward and easier to learn than p5js, and the types of projects we had for this class were simple but comprehensive enough that I didn't feel overwhelmed about learning code.
Creative writing is not my strongest suit and I'm not familiar with it at all, so this class challenged me in ways that I didn't expect. However it was interesting to see all the different options that are out there that can help influence your creative thought process. They definitely helped me in this project and other past projects.
Googlism, n+7, and Travesty generator were used in a section of the game that describes school events:

(The words I put into the Travesty Generator)
You and your friend Kurtis want to sabotage the upcoming school fundraiser. By collecting these three items you want to make sure the event doesn’t go as smoothly as planned. The school decides to hold a bake sale, which will include goodies and drinks like cupcakes, brownies, and chocolate chip cookies. You and Kurtis will have to collect laxatives to put into the cake batter before the bake sale begins. To get to the cake batter, you will have to earn money and purchase it, get through security to the office, find the key to the kitchen, and opur the laxatives in the batter.
Oblique Strategies
"Listen to the quiet voice"
Initially I was going to create my game without the $dollar variable, where players would not have to earn money to gain items. However, that made the game feel too “easy”, so I wanted to add another element to keep the gameplay interesting.
"Lost in useless territory"
When the player gets further into the game and has to search for the “key”, I decided to create a ‘search bookshelf’, ‘search desk’, and ‘search file cabinets’ option so that players can either find additional cash or they find the key. To make the game more challenging, I decided to add these seemingly unnecessary elements that players would have to find in order to proceed.
"Abandon normal instruments"
I considered only including a few objects for the player to be able to choose from and place in their inventory. But I believed that again, this would make the game too easy, so I added many different options to try and confuse the player from purchasing the “correct” object.
Use an old idea
My old idea was about the player being late for class, and having to make a series of choices influencing whether they would make it to class in time or not
"Don't be frightened of cliches"
For this game, I included multiple cliches that genuinely helped me create a more interesting game and gameplay. For instance there was one point in the game where I had the protagonist navigate through different options to get to the destination, the office. I had to figure out a way to include an obstacle to make the game more interesting, so I added a security guard as the element that the player would potentially face. The player has an option to bribe the guard with an item, which is a good inclusion of the other aspect of the game, where players can purchase objects to store in their inventory. Although being chased by a security guard is a fairly cliche obstacle in a game, it helped me along with creating more interesting aspects of this game
Anagram
I primarily used Anagram to come up with creative names for some NPCs. Some examples:
Chocolate milk=Mr. Coital Hemlock (History)
Laxative=Mrs Latvia Lei Xi (English)
Latvia Ex
A Vat El Xi
A Ax Lei Tv
A Ax Lie Tv
Brownies= Mrs. Brie Owens (Math)
Brie Owns
Botnik

Generated sentence:
“I do not give a thousand stoops about it “
Used in the scenario where the player runs into the guard
Crowdsourcing
Used to come up with objects for the player to purchase and collect, such as edamame and beets.
